Scanning a customer's driver's license is the fastest way to get them on the road. The CarBuddii app uses your device's camera to automatically extract the customer's information, allowing you to generate a fully compliant test drive agreement or rental contract in under 20 seconds.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Start a New Agreement

Open the CarBuddii mobile app and tap the button to create a new Test Drive or Rental Contract from the main dashboard.

Step 2: Select the Vehicle

Choose the vehicle the customer will be driving from your fleet inventory.

Step 3: Initiate the Scanner

On the customer details screen, tap the Scan Driver's License icon. Your device may ask for permission to use the camera if this is your first time using the feature—be sure to select "Allow."

Step 4: Scan the License

The process here depends on whether the customer has a physical card or a digital app:

• For Physical Driver's Licenses:

  Hold the customer's physical plastic card in a well-lit area. Position the front of the driver's license within the frame on your screen. The app will automatically detect the card, snap the picture, and extract the text.

• For Digital Driver's Licenses (Danish "Kørekort" app):

  Ask the customer to open their official Kørekort app on their own phone. Have them tap "Kortinfo" (Card Info / ID) at the bottom of their screen to display their secure QR code. Point your CarBuddii scanner at their phone screen to scan the QR code.

Step 5: Verify the Data

Once scanned, the app will automatically fill in the customer's name, driver's license number, and other required fields. Take a quick second to verify that the extracted information matches the license correctly.

Step 6: Proceed to Signature

With the customer data successfully captured, you can now move directly to the final step where the customer signs the digital agreement and the "Solemn declaration regarding reckless driving."

Troubleshooting & Tips

• Glare : If you are scanning a physical card, watch out for overhead lights or sunlight reflecting off the shiny plastic. Tilt the card slightly to remove the glare if the app is struggling to read the text.

• Foreign Licenses: CarBuddii supports scanning driver's licenses for non-native citizens (including Norwegian and Swedish citizens).

• Manual Entry Fallback: If a physical license is heavily damaged, scratched, or simply won't scan, you can always tap the option to enter the customer's details manually.
